| good bore, good stock, 8'' barrel, Fine pair of French c.1830's cannon barrel or blunderbuss pistols, both marked in gold inlay ovals on the lockplates "DEBOUBERT/A PARIS" and on top of the barrels in an oval "DEBOUBERT/BREVETTE A PARIS". Consecutively numbered in gold inlay 1 and 2 on the barrels and breech. Damascene barrels have a 1 1 /16" flare at the muzzle. Barrels have a thinning browned finish. Casehardened lockplates, breeches and hammers with generous color. Finely grained walnut stocks with checkered grip. Ornate engraved iron mounts. Stocks rate fair to good overall however the pistol numbered 1 has a crack on the left side from the trigger guard thru the tie plate on up to the barrel. Gun numbered 2 has a small crack on the left above the tie plate to the barrel breech. Bone brass tipped ramrods. Locks on both function well and have hammer locks. |
