| 30 Luger; 98% blue, 95% straw, very good+ bore, excellent grips, 6 7/8'' barrel, This rare and exceptional 1900 model Luger pistol with 175mm barrel falls into a known serial number range, 10007-10044, of "standard" production Chilean contract stocked pistols which have the fixed rear sight. Earlier Chilean contract pistols (known serial number range of 10003-10014) had an adjustable 600 meter rear sight. In the book Pistole Parabellum Volume I, by Joachim Gortz and Geoffrey L Sturgess, on page 197 it is mentioned that this group of pistols had commercial crown/B/U/G proofing. This example exhibits no proofs at all. With one exception, a small flaming bomb stamp on the left frame just above the front upper corner of the grip panel, not visible with the sideplate attached. The DWM monogram is marked on top of the toggle. The serial numbered parts which should be marked are all matching. The magazine is the basic unmarked wood bottom variaton which is in excellent condition. Strawed small parts retain an even 95% color. Checkered 2nd type safety. Wide trigger guard and narrow grip safety. Excellent restored condition: Rust blue finish, showing light sharp edge wear. Toggle pins, sear spring and grip screws retain generous fire blued finish. The bore is bright and has sharp rifling, just a hint of frost along the grooves. Walnut stock with strawed push button latch is unmarked and in excellent condition, having only a few minor handling scuffs and scratches. Holster attached in the Navy style, in excellent condition and includes the shoulder strapping. Barrel handled 7 3/8 inch cleaning rod inside the corresponding pouch on the leading edge of the holster., s/n 100xx, Catalog Number D-742 |
