| 54 Cal; fair bore, good stock, 33'' barrel, Lock marked "E. WHITNEY/U.S." and "N. HAVEN/1849". Fixed sights. Walnut stock with brass mountings. The barrel is stamped on the left side with the inspector mark "US/JAG/P". Visible inspector cartouches on the left side flat of the stock. U.S. marked on the buttplate tang. Patina barrel with some pitting mainly around the bolster areas. The wood has been lightly sanded and the brass has been cleaned. The ramrod is not original. The saber bayonet lug on the right side of the barrel has been removed. The action works fine. Antique, |
