THIS INTERESTING FALLING BLOCK SINGLE SHOT RIFLE IS MARKED HENRY'S PATENT ON THE RECEIVER AND BARREL. THE BLUING HAS MOSTLY TURNED PATINA ON THE BARREL, THE FINISH IS GONE ON THE RECEIVER, LOCK WORK AND BANDS. THE BORE IS SEMI BRIGHT WITH DISTINCT RIFLING BUT HAS OXIDATION IN THE GROOVES. THE STOCK IS SOLID BUT SHOWS NUMEROUS DINGS, SCRATCHES AND COMPRESSION DENTS. THE RIGHT BUTT IS MARKED NSW F-34. WE BELIEVE THESE RIFLES WERE ISSUED TO PRISON GUARDS IN NEW SOUTH WALES, |
