| 12 Gauge; fair bore, good stock, 30.25'' barrel, Manufactured in England circa 1880s. Original browned finish Damascus barrels, casehardened frame and mounted in checkered walnut. Engraved on top of the barrel rib A. FIELD & Co. LONDON. The frame and lockplates are fine border and scroll engraved with game scenes on the lockplates. 2 1/2 inch chambers with Full and Cylinder chokes. The metal finish has worn mostly gray with some spotting, The frame and lockplates retain only traces of any case color. The left barrel has a minor dent on the side approximately 7.25 inches from the muzzle. The wood shows some wear and handling. The forearm has a latch release with a bone tip. The butt has heel and toe plates, the wood grooved in between. There is a tiny chip behind the point of the upper tang. Missing the firing pins. The actions work fine. There is some barrel play in lockup. The bores are frosted. Antique., |
