| 44 BP; 65% blue, very good bore, very good stock, 28'' barrel, Evans Sporting Rifles found with this on the barrel instead of the usual markings are believed to have been assembled from parts. These were mostly 30” round barrel military muskets which had a short forend attached with a screw. This forend is quite different from the usual sporting forend. This rifle has a 28-inch octagon barrel with a blade front sight and a ladder style rear sight. The top flat of the barrel has EVANS SPORTING RIFLE. The bore is bright and in very good condition. The metal finish has high edge wear on the barrel along with thinning on it and the receiver. The walnut forearm is checkered and has several nicks and handling marks. The buttstock has several mild handling marks and dings. The top of the comb where is meets the buttplate has a 2 ¼ inch crack. ANTIQUE, |
