| 22 LONG RIFLE; good bore, good stock, 24.75'' barrel, Polish conversion from a K98a Mauser small ring action, to single shot training rifle. Metal finish has worn mostly grey with traces of original blued finish, mounted in a beechwood stock and handguard. Numbered parts are matching except the buttplate and bolt cocking piece, which is a nazi eagle/77 proofed part. Stamped on top of the receiver with the Polish pheonix crest over "F.B. / RADOM / 1929". Stamped on the left side of the receiver "K98". Original fixed front sight, tangent rear sight with standard graduations. Poland was one of the first countries in Europe to standardize military training for their armed services after WW1. At first using converted service rifles until beginning production of dedicated 22 training rifles circa early1930's.This example shows use and handling, worn metal finish, the stock has a minor crack on the bottom at the lower sling swivel base and an arsenal patch repair at the heel of the butt. The magazine well is empty, used for catching spent brass. Also the bolt catch is a bit touchy and needs an assist from time to time.
