| 8mm; 20% blue, fair bore, fair stock, 24'' barrel, HUNGARIAN G98/40 RIFLE WITH MATCHING NUMBERS EXCEPT THE BOLT. THESE WERE ORIGINALLY MANUFACTURED AS THE HUNGARIAN M35 BUT AFTER THE GERMANS TOOK OVER THE FACTORY THEY WERE REDESIGNATED THE MODEL G98/40 AND CODED "jhv". THIS EXAMPLE IS DATED 1941 AND BEARS GERMAN EAGLE FIRING PROOFS. THE BLUING IS MOSTLY GONE WITH APPROX 20% REMAINING. THE BORE IS DARK WITH WORN RIFLING ALONG WITH OXIDATION PRESENT . THE STOCK SHOWS NUMEROUS DING, SCRATCHES AND COMPRESSION DENTS. A FAINT CARTOUCHE IS VISIBLE IN THE RIGHT BUTT., s/n 94xx |
