| 69 Caliber; 20% blue, fair bore, good stock, 34'' barrel, FRENCH, 1777 CHARLEVILLE Musket The most famous model to be produced by the Charleville Armory was the standard infantry arm of the French army during the Napoleonic Wars. Its steel barrel bands made for easy maintenance and its brass pan resisted corrosion. This .69 caliber musket carried Napoleons armies to victory after victory. The bore is pitted, the action works. The musket retains its ram rod. The metal is very worn and thinned out. The stock has several handling marks, and the buttstock is cracked at the buttplate. The top of stock at the back of the barrel is cracked on the left side ANTIQUE., |
