THE LEBEL HAS THE DISTICTION OF BEING THE FIRST MILITARY RIFLE TO USE A SMOKELESS POWDER CARTRIDGE, AND WAS THE MAIN FRENCH INFANTRY RIFLE DURING WWI. THE BLUING IS MOSTLY GONE WITH REMNANTS ON THE RECEIVER AND MOST OF THE BARREL FINISH TURNING PATINA. AS COMMON WITH THESE MOST NUMBERS ARE MISMATCHED. THE STOCK LOOKS HEAVILY SANDED WITH MINIMAL HANDLING MARKS. THE BORE HAS WORN RIFLING WITH MODERATE OXIDATION., s/n T19xx |
