| 8mm Mauser; 95% blue, excellent bore, very good stock, 21'' barrel, "People's Rifle" hastily manufactured in the closing months of WW2 and issued to the German national militia. Stamped on the top rear edge of the receiver ring with the Steyr code and date "bnz45". Left side of barrel chamber is stamped with an eagle/swaztika military acceptance mark. Original blued finish, plain beechwood stock with half forend and no buttplate. 98 Mauser action with matching bolt. Barrels where utilized from whatever was available, many times machine gun barrels. Welded fixed front sight, fixed rear sight dovetailed into the top of the receiver ring. Internal box magazine without provision for a floorplate. Fabricated wire sling loop thru the front of the forend. The stock is stamped on the bottom behind the trigger guard "MR" over "XE". Overall in excellent condition. Mechanically fine. C&R/FFL, s/n 61xx |
