| Original WW2 era helmet as issued to Luftschutz and Police units. These helmets were made of a lighter weight steel than the standard combat helmets with simpler liner assemblies. This example has been repainted at least once with a dark blue/black finish. The cloth covered cardboard liner is held with three rivits and cork mounts. Stamped inside the back rim with a "B". The size marking Q66 is stamped inside the left rim. A pebble grain leather chin strap is attached using rivits to the coardboard liner band. Overall good condition, showing light wear and scuffing externally, with a small dent on the top back edge. With the helmet is a pair of goggles which may be WW2 era, aluminum with grey elastic band, clear plastic lens, and grey felt lined along the back edges of the eyepieces., |
