| 54 Cal; poor bore, good stock, 8.5'' barrel, Marked on the center of the lock "U.S./H.. ASTON" and vertically at the rear of the lock "MIDDTN/CONN./1847". Round barrel with brass front sight blade. Brass mounted walnut stock with no visible inspector cartouche on the left side flat. The barrel and lock have some pitting. Hinged ramrod is a reproduction replacement. There are two smals cracks on the left side of the stock between the tie plate and barrel, and the stock appears to have been lightly sanded long ago. The lock functions fine. Antique, |
