| 70 Caliber; excellent bore, excellent stock, 6'' barrel, H. E. DIMICK & CO ST LOUIS, is marked on the barrel and lock. Here is an unusual .70 smooth bore "Kentucky" styled percussion pistol. H E DIMICK was a gunsmith, firearms dealer and western bound outfitter active in St Louis MO from 1849 to the early 1870s. If you were heading west in the 1850-1860s and desired a compact "Hand Cannon" this would be your choice, .70 caliber, no frills serious medicine indeed. Lock has full function. In excellent condition with if little to no signs of use, minor freckling on hammer, wood is in excellent shape with no chips or cracks. Rear tang is cracked by the retention screw. |
