| 8mm Mauser; 75% blue, excellent bore, poor stock, 23.5'' barrel, Manufactured in 1947. Mauser 98 military style action with original blue finish, mounted in a checkered beechwood stock. Ramped fixed front and fixed rear sights. The receiver has been drilled and tapped with Weaver style two piece scope bases installed, larger screws used which indicates possible problems with the holes for the bases. A bolt lock assembly has been installed on the right side of the receiver tang. The stock has a crack behind the receiver tang which runs down the right side of the grip. The crack has been stabilized with two bolts run thru the wood above the trigger. Also a split on the left side forend tip. The bolt handle has been modified for scope clearance. The buttplate has a chip at the toe. Mechanically fine. C&R/FFL, s/n 514xx |
