| 30-06 Cal; 98% blue, excellent + bore, excellent + stock, 22'' barrel, Excellent example of a WW II M1941 Johnson semi-automatic rifle manufactured by the Cranston Arms Co. The Johnson rifle has several unique features, two of them being that they have a removable barrel for easy storage in a parachute jump bag and the second being that their rotary magazine, which held ten rounds, and could be easily topped off with either single or multiple rounds before or during a battle. The receiver is marked with the standard five line patent dates followed by five lines, CAL 30-06 SEMI-AUTO/"JOHNSON AUTOMATICS”/MODEL OF 1941, Made in Providence, R.I.,U.S.A. and the serial number "8718". A circled five-pointed star and "CRANSTON/ARMS/CO." in a triangle are marked on the right side of the receiver below the rear sight, indicating it was accepted by the Netherlands Purchasing Commission. The rear sight is marked "M2" on the left side with the calibrations correctly marked in meters on the right side and the sling is marked with, G&K/1918. The spiked bayonet is numbered but not to this rifle (s/n 5699) and includes leather scabbard. The butt stock and forend are both in excellent condition with a nice medium brown colored walnut showing only minor handling marks., s/n 87xx |
