| 41 Caliber; Good bore, good stock, 28.25'' barrel, Joseph Golciier marked on lockplate. Half round/half octagon barrel. Barrel appears to have been shortened to length long ago with a fabricated end cap and front sight. Brass trigger guard and fittings with single trigger. Action works well. Walnut stock shows signs of sanding and refinishing long ago with a repair to a split on the right side of the forend. The left side of the forend has an un-repaired crack and there is an old stress crack on the left side forward of the lockplate screw. The ramrod is a more recent replacement. Antique, |
