| 30-40 Krag; 40% blue, excellent stock, 30'' barrel, Manufactured in1901, this rifle has a raised blade front sight, an elevation and drift adjustable 1900 meter ladder rear sight. The left side of the receiver is marked “U.S. / MODEL 1898. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY and s/n”. The rear of the bolt handle is marked “S11” and “X”. The bottom of the bolt handle is marked “7”. The barrel band is marked “U”. The bottom of the grip is marked “50” and with a “circled P” proof. The left side of the stock, above the trigger, is marked with a boxed inspector’s cartouche “JSA / 1901. The front band / bayonet lug has turned a brown, the barrel has some very light freckling, and the receiver and bolt are mostly gray. The bore mshows corrosion., s/n 3312xx |
