| 22 SHORT CAL; 85% blue, very good bore, very good stock, 25 5/8'' barrel, Manufactured in France, this is a miniature model of the M1886 Lebel service rifle. These rifles were fairly common in France and were produced by several different makers, and were used primarily by military schools and cadet corp. Single shot bolt action. Original blued finish, nicely grained walnut stock and forend. Casehardened bolt and barrel bands. Matching serial numbers on stock, bolt and barrel bands. Fixed front sight. Tangent rear sight, graduated 20-200 meters. The metal finish shows areas of thinning and slight plum patina, a few scratches. There is some minor surface spotting here and there. The buttstock is a bit loose, no visible damage or cracks. Fine mechanics. Nicely marked on the right side of the buttstock., s/n 676xx |
