| 303 British; 75% blue, fair bore, good stock, 30.4'' barrel, Enfield manufacture 1900, marked on the right side of the buttsocket "Crown VR/ENFIELD/1900/L.E./I*". Stamped on top of the barrel forward of the rear sight with the BSA stacked rifles trademark and "MOTTY SPECIAL". Harry Motton "old Motty" was a famous Australian competition shooter and gunsmith well known for his conversions of military rifles for target shooting. Original blued finish, mounted in walnut. The bolt is not-numbered, the back of the bolt handle ground and blued. Crown/BV proofed on the knob. Fixed blade front sight with protector installed as seen on the CLLE MKI* rifles, non-matching rear windage adjustable sight as seen on the CLLE MKI* rifles as well. Rifle is fitted with a BSA fully adjustable rear aperture side folding sight. Original chained magazine. Original stacking swivel, bolt dust cover, volley sight and leather sling attached. Includes an original Lithgow proofed rear volley aperture and spring, which were removed to mount the aperture sight. The metal finish is thinning overall with areas of patina and light spotting. The wood show wear and handling, the handguard has a 1 inch crack at the front and a crack and split at the rear. The bore is frosted, showing strong rifling.
