| Original German Luftwaffe WW2 issue flight crew survival machete, manufactured by Alcoso of Solingen, marked with the companies scale logo on the left side of the 16" blade. Brass grip and S shaped guard with grooved wooden handles. OAL is 20.75 inches. The blade rates good, having aeas of dark spotting with minor nicks on the edge, two larger nicks on the curve of the edge. The blade is straight and shows no signs of sharpening or cleaning. Complete with the original scabbard and the very rare web frog which is in very good condition. The steel scabbard retains the majority of the original blued finish. There is some surface rusting and there is a crease on the front, which does not seem to interfere with insertion. |
