| 7 X 57mm; 90% blue, excellent bore, good stock, 22'' barrel, Manufactured in Germany by Mauser-Werke A.G. Oberndorf which is stamped on the left side of the receiver.This is the rare short carbine with 21.65 barrel. Original commercial quality blue finish and walnut stock. These rifles were manufactured for export with most destined for a Chinese contract. Stamped on top of the receiver ring with the Mauser banner logo. Commercial crown/B, U, G and N proofs. Complete matching bolt and trigger guard. The floorplate is export marked "Made In Germany". Full length handguard with a 1400 meter tangent rear sight. Spring kept lower band, upper band held with a screw. Cleaning rod with some spotting. The left side of the butt has been lightly scratched with a name "F.GRAF" over a number "11632". The metal finish has small areas of wear and handling scratches, the wood has some dings and scuffs. Small import mark on the left side of the receiver ring. Mechanically fine with a nice bore. Due to the attrition and usual poor maintenance of rifles that went to China, it is doubtful this rifle ended up there. From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. C&R/FFL, s/n 25xx |
