11mm Mauser; 99% blue, excellent bore, excellent stock, 31.5'' barrel, Manufactured in 1887 at the Spandau Arsenal, Germany. This Mauser 71/84 rifle is in near mint condition showing slight storage wear. This is numbers matching rifle. The top of the barrel shank is marked “crown / SPANDAU.” The left side of the barrel shank is marked with the serial number, “5470”, “crown / F.W.” and with two “crowned letters”. Two of the barrel band look like they were mistruck. The right side of the barrel shank is marked with 4 “crowned letters”. The right side of the receiver is marked “1887.” and with a “crowned letter”. The left side of the receiver is marked with the serial number and “I. G. Mod 71/84.” (I.G. for Infanterie Gewehr or Infantry Rifle.) The top of the buttplate has a regiment marking on it. It reads K.A.R. / E. 4. 16. And Imperial proofed. R means Reserve. E is the Co. 4 is the Battalion and 16 is the gun number. The stock has numerous Imperial proof marks. The metal finish and the stock are in excellent original condition., s/n 54xx
