| 8x57mm; very good bore, good stock, 23.5'' barrel, Manufactured by Berlin Lubecker, stamped on top of the receiver ring with the code "duv" and date code "42". All matching serial numbers, no import markings. Only trace original blued finish remains on the metal. Laminated stock and handguard. Eagle/214 proofs appear on all parts except the cupped buttplate, which is matching, stamped with code "dwc" with an eagle/13 proof. The left side of the barrel and receiver ring are stamped with the eagle/swaztika miitary test proof. The right side of the receiver ring is stamped with three eagle/214 proofs. The right side of the stock has two faint eagle/214 proofs with an eagle/H Army mark. The exposed metal has turned mostly grey with dark spotting. The wood has dings and dents and a shallow gouge on the left upper wrist. Includes an original leather sling, unmarked except for an ink stamped "38" on the keeper tab. The sling is fair, being a bit dry and has two splits half way into the sling about center which will need repair to make the sling serviceable. Also included is an original bayonet with scabbard and leather belt frog. Marked on the ricasso with the code "41 cue" and serial numbered 2071b. The scabbard is not numbered, code marked "44 fnj" with a phosphate finish. The frog is maker marked and dated 1938, is in fair condition, a bit stiff wiith the keeper strap split at the stud hole. The rifles bore has shine and strong rifling, showing some light corrosion in the grooves., s/n 20xx |
