| 9mm Luger; 75% blue, 20% straw, fair bore, good grips, 4'' barrel, Very early Mauser small banner trade mark Oberndorf commercial Luger. Cal. 9m/m, 4 inch barrel with 4-digit serial number and Mauser Crown/U proof on the bottom. First pattern small Mauser banner on center toggle, crown/U proof on breechbolt. Matching s/n on back of rear toggle. Crown/U proof on left receiver. Center and breechbolt toggle links and the sideplate are not numbered. Receiver and sear bar are also un-numbered, as are the checkered walnut grips. Full v-range s/n on front of the frame. Plain wood bottom magazine, unmarked. Distinctive long (16.89 mm) muzzle ring and set back front sight base only seen on very early 1934 commercial and mid-k range military pistols indicating the start of Mauser manufactured Luger barrels. This pistol is featured on pages 539, 540, 612, 748, 769 and 1110 of the book "Borchardt & Luger Automatic Pistols" by Joachim Gortz and Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. From the collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess. Over all condition good, with scattered corrosion and pitting on sides of the muzzle, right front corner of receiver, right front frame rail and grip straps. There is also pitting underneath the grips on the frame. The left grip has a tiny chip of wood missing at the lower front corner. Magazine has small chips on the wood bottom and scattered light corrosion on the body. The bore shows wear with light pitting. Mechanics are sound. Import marked on the bottom of the frame.
