| 9mm Luger; 85% blue, 40% straw, good bore, good grips, 4'' barrel, Mauser 1906 model with 4 inch 9mm barrel and grip safety. This pistol falls into a batch of about 15 pistols which are at the end run of a 1935 Portuguese GNR contract, however are Navy configuration 4 inch 9mm pistols with blank chambers. See the excellent book "The Mauser Parabellum 1930-1945" by Don R. Hallock and Joop van de Kant, page 415. Original blue finish, strawed small parts and checkered walnut grips. The numbered parts are matchng including the magazine which is also stamped with a +. The grips and breechbolt are not numbered. Stamped on top of the toggle with an 8-line Mauser banner, blank chamber. Crown/U proofs appear on the left side of the receiver and breechbolt and on the bottom of the barrel. The safety area on the left side of the toggle housing is marked SEGURANCA and the extractor is marked CARREGADA. Condition. The metal finish shows edge and high point holster wear, with scattered handling scratches and minor surface spotting. The finish on the grip frame straps is thinning and browning. The straw color on the small parts is beginning to fade with some dark spotting on most of the parts. The grips show some wear and handling, the checkering remains strong. Mechanically fine.
