| 8x57mm; 98% blue, fair bore, very good stock, 23.5'' barrel, Russian arsenal refurbished. Blued finish, laminated stock and handguard. Parts electro-penciled to match include the bolt, bolt shroud, safety, trigger guard and florrplate. Stock is stamped matching on the left side of the butt. Milled parts except the upper band and cupped buttplate. The top of the receiver ring is stamped with the original Mauser code 42 and date 1939, along with the Russian stamped X. German proofs and acceptance marks retained. Leather sling attached appears to be of Czech origin. CAI import marked on the end of the barrel. The stock has faint WaA proofs on the right side with a shellac finish applied. Mechanically fine. The bore is dark with good rifling, muzzle is tight using the "bullet test"., s/n 96xx |
