Description:
44-40 WCF; good bore, very good grips, 7'' barrel, Manufactured c.1880's. Original nickel finish metal with checkered hard rubber grips. Matching assembly numbers on frame, cylinder and barrel. Stamped in a single line on top of the barrel "MERWIN HULBERT & CO. NEW YORK, U.S.A." with patent dates 1877, 1880, 1882 and 1883. The left side of the barrel is stamped "THE JHOPKINS & ALLEN MANUFACTURING CO. NORWICH, CONN. U.S.A.". Left side of the frame is stamped with the caliber designation "CALIBRE/WINCHESTER 1873". And hand stamped initials "G.K." are marked in front of the caliber designation stamp. Lanyard ring on butt. Casehardened hammer with generous color. Fading case color on the trigger guard with some spotting. Metal retains 94% nickel finish which is still fairly bright. Most loss is on the cylinder. And there are scattered light scratches and small dings here and there overall. Mechanically in fine condition. The barrels bore has some pitting. Antique, s/n 199xx
