| 38 Centerfire; very good bore, very good grips, 3.5'' barrel, Manufactured c.1880, early 2nd variation with scooped cylinder flutes and exposed cylinder pin. Square butt frame with spur trigger and standard hammer. Original factory nickel finish with checkered hard rubber grips with dogshead. Matching serial numbers. Round barrel with rig, marked on top "HOPKINS & ALLEN MFG. CO. NORWICH CONN. U.S.A. PAT. JAN. 24" over patent dates from 1874-1877. Stamped on the left side of the frame "MERWIN HULBERT & CO./NEW YORK U.S.A.". Caliber designation "38 CAL" on the right side of the frame. The metal finish has small scratches and dings, small gouge on the bottom of the barrel. Mechanically fine. Antique., s/n 19xx |
