| 8 mm Nambu; 90% blue, 50% straw, excellent bore, good grips, 4 5/8'' barrel, This is a scarce variation produced at the Kokubunji factory in 1936 and marked with the JYO inspection marks of the Jujyo Inspection Group, and is part of the second series of serial numbers 18236-22209 with 11.3 Showa dates. Please see the book Japanese Military Cartridge Handguns 1893-1945 by Harry L. Derby III and James D. Brown, page 109. This pistol has a mis-matched bolt, barrel and magazine, and the grips are not marked. The magazine is the proper type with plated finish and aluminum base, numbered on the lower spine 299 along with the JYO inspection marking. The bolt and barrel match each other and are numbered 259, the gun being numbered 20293. The original blued finish shows some wear and minor spotting, with the grip straps showing some patina. The grips show some handling with minor dings and marks. The magazine base has some nicks on the grooved grasping serrations. Seems to be in excellent mechanical condition. C&R/FFL, s/n 202xx |
