| 12 Gauge; fair bore, fair stock, 29.5'' barrel, Browned Damascus barrels. Walnut straight stock with checkered wrist and single wedged forend. Engraved on top of the smooth concave rib "PAYTON & CO LONDON". Blued backlock plates with border and some floral scroll engraving, both marked "PAYTON & CO". Steel buttplate. Unmarked silver oval on the bottom of the butt. Ramrod is a contemporary replacement. Actions function well. Bores have corrosion and pitting throughout. The stock is overall in good condition however there is a crack on the bottom of the forend between the wedge plates. Antique. |
