| Antique Cow shaped head mace (or Gorz). Hollow iron shaft measures 27.75 inches in length. The cows head is hollow as well, with pointed horns. Has damascene type pattern decoration and detail on the head which is barely visible. Weapons such as these could be mounted to a longer shaft or attached to a chain. Most meant for use as weapons have a solid iron head. A this is hollow it may have been more for ceremonial or status situations. Exact age unknown. |
