| 41 Caliber; fair bore, good stock, 2'' barrel, Manufactured c.1850's. Originally blued finish on barrel and lockplate now turned light patina with some spotting. Silver mounted walnut stock with checkered birds head grip. Marked on the lockplate "DERINGER / PHILADEL A", same markings on top of the barrel breech. The barrel is stamped "P" over the left side at the breech. The stock is overall good however there is a small crack on top between the barrel tang and lockplate and another on the left side between the barrel and tieplate. The lock functions well. A Deringer pistol similar to this was used in the Lincoln assassination. Antique |
