| 43 SPANISH; poor bore, fair stock, 36'' barrel, Argentine contract manufactured by Remington, 3-line Remington address and patent dates located on the upper receiver tang. Barrel is marked on the flat over the chamber "MODELO ARGENTINO 1879 E.N.". The metal has turned an even rust patina overall with light pitting. Markings are faint. Walnut stock and forend held with three bands. The wood shows age and wear with oil soaking and carved letters, chipping along edges and a small crack on the right side of the wrist behind the receiver. The ramrod is not original to the gun. Original sights. The action functions well. The bore has strong rifling however has heavy rust throughout. Mechanically fine and complete. |
