| 58 Caliber; 95% blue, very good bore, very good+ stock, 33'' barrel, Original blued finish round barrel with fixed front and folding two leaf rear sight. Brass mounted walnut stock with strong inspector cartouches on the left side. Casehardened lockplate retains approx 70% fading color, marked with the American Eagle motif over U.S. and "REMINGTON'S/ILION, N.Y.". 1863 date at the rear of the lock. 1863 date on top of the barrel along with V, P and eagleshead proofs. Left side of the barrel is marked "STEEL" with H.S.L. inspector initials. Extra nipple inside the brass patchbox on the right side of the stock. Exceptional example of an original Zouave rifle musket. Antique. |
