| 30-06 Cal; excellent bore, very good stock, 24'' barrel, This is a 1943 WWII US Remington 1903A3 Springfield Rifle in 30-06 caliber. The barrel has two grooves rifling sharp and very shiny. Barrel end marked RA over flaming bomb 1-43 (January of 1943). The top of the chamber is stamped U.S. / REMINGTON / MODEL 03-A3 / 3513941 The front sight is raised blade and the rear sights were changed to an aperture (peep) system mounted on the receiver. The metal finish is in very good condition. The stock and handguard are both walnut with the left side marked with a boxed "FJA" proofs and AAR proofs with various sub inspector proofs in front of the trigger guard, and circle P marked at bottom and a rectangle with a Large P. The buttstock has a Steel buttplate with cleaning rod compartment (rod not included). The wood is also excellent with a light coat of protective varnish applied and some scattered minor dents and nicks., s/n 35139xx |
