| 10 Gauge; fair bore, good stock, 31'' barrel, Manufactured c.1902. Steel barrels, 2 7/8 inch chambers. Matted rib with extension, brass front and center bead sights. Marked on top of the barrel rib "-REMINGTON ARMS CO.- / -ILION, N.Y. U.S.A.-". Both lock plates marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO.". Matching serial numbers on action and barrels. Metal finish has aged to a light brown patina with toning and dark spotting overall. The walnut stock has been sanded and refinished. 14 inch LOP with a replacement Remington plastic buttplate fitted. The forend has been modifed and repaired, a plate welded to the bottom of the barrels and tapped for a screw to hold the forend, replacing the original forend catch. There appears to have been previous repairs to the original catch as well. These repairs appear to have been done long ago. The barrels have been shortened 1 inch from 32 to 31 inches. The actions function well. There is barrel play in all direction in lock-up., s/n 2174xx |
