| 44 Rimfire; fair bore, good grips, 8'' barrel, Nickeled finish with genuine polished bone grips. Rollins White marked 5-shot cylinder "PATENTED APRIL 3D 1855". Octagon barrel with fixed sight, marked on top "PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION. NEW YORK U.S.A./NEW-MODEL". Revolver retains approximately 60% nickel finish with dull areas, scratches and small dings. Flaking loss around the barrels muzzle and on the cylinder, frame ahead of the cylinder, with patina in areas of loss. Grips have shrunk a bit with tiny chips at some edges. The action functions well. Corrosion in the bore and chambers. Antique., s/n 879xx |
