| 44 Rimfire; 75% blue, good bore, good grips, 8'' barrel, Ex-military private gunsmith cartridge conversion. Original blued finsih, brass trigger guard and plain walnut grips. Faint US inspector cartouche on the left grip. Single letter inspector initials on most parts. Un-marked 5-shot cylinder. Ejection rod added. Stamped in large letters and numbers on the right side of the frame in front of the cylinder "C.A. 347". Octagon barrel with the original markings on top "PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS ILION NEW YORK U.S.A./NEW MODEL". Most finish loss is on the barrel which has browned. Light surface spotting overall in exposed metal. The action functions well, the bore is surprisingly bright with strong rifling. Antique., s/n 1252xx |
