Description:
45 ACP; good bore, good grips, 5'' barrel, Made in 1943. Parkerized finish, checkered plastic Keyes narrow riing grips. Original fixed sights, blued finish Scovill magazine. High Standard barrel with original blue finish. Stamped on the left side of the slide with the 3rd type logo. Left side of frame with the inspector mark of Frank J Atwood (FJA). P proof just below the magazine catch. Right side of frame marked "UNITED STATE PROPERTY" over the serial number and "M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY". Ordnance Wheel escutcheon behind the grip panel. P proof on top of slide stamped near the rear sight. Proper hammer, checkered thumb safety and slide catch are proper, 7 rib mainspring housing is not the original. Mechanically fine. Includes a WW2 era Sears manufacture M1916 holster in good condition but missing the belt hook, an original khaki web double magazine pouch (no legible markings) with two extra original Scovill blued finish magazines, and a late rope lanyard.
