| 58 Caliber; fair bore, fair stock, 39'' barrel, Conversion using Civil War rifle musket barrel and forend, chambered for .58 Caliber centerfire cartridge. Remington address and patent dates 1864 and 1866 in two lines on top of the upper tang. Metal in the white with surface rust and spotting overall. Walnut converted musket 3 spring kept bands forend. Walnut buttstock. No visible markings. Cleaning rod. US marked bayonet in very good condition. The action functions fine. The stock has cracks on the bottom of the forend between the frame and lower barrel band, and at each upper corner of the buttstock at the frame/tang. The bore shows strong rifling however is dark with levels of pitting throughout. Antique. |
