| 22 SHORT CAL; good bore, very good grips, 3 3/16'' barrel, Manufactured 1861-1862 with an estimated 1000 produced. 6-shot barrel cluster, double action mechanism with concealed hammer. Hard rubber grips. Originally blued finish, which has aged evenly to a light brown patina overall with some dark spotting. Clear markings on the sides of the frame, left side "ELLIOTS PATENTS/AUG. 17, 1858/MAY. 29, 1860" and on the right side "MANUFACTURED BY/REMINGTON'S/ILION, N.Y.". Mechanically functions well, minor corrosion in the shiny bores. One of Remingtons first metallic cartridge firearms, this pocket Deringer is an antique and not designed for use with modern ammunition. |
