| 256 WIN MAGNUM; 96% blue, excellent bore, excellent grips, 8.5'' barrel, The Ruger Hawkeye is a single-shot pistol chambered for the 256 Winchester Magnum cartridge, produced by Ruger from 1963 until July 1964. It was built on the same frame as the Ruger Blackhawk but rather than having a rotating cylinder like a standard revolver, it featured a swiveling breechblock which allowed an individual round to be loaded and sealed into the frame. This revolver has very slight muzzle wear only on the left side. The barrel is stamped RUGER HAWKEYE / WIN. .256 MAG. CAL. And the Ruger Trademark. The left frame has STURM, RUGER & CO. / SOUTHPORT, COMM. U.S.A. The right side of the frame has the S/N 296. The metal finish is in excellent condition. The walnut grips are in excellent condition. The front sight is a ramped blade and the rear is an adjustable target sight The barrel is drilled & tapped for scope mounts, s/n 2xx |
