| 6.5x55mm; 70% blue, poor bore, good stock, 23'' barrel, Mauser sporting rifle built by Victor Christian Schilling on an 1898 Mauser mauser military action. Part octagon barrel with full matted rib, ramped fixed front sight, and fixed rear sight with one standing and one folding leaf. Casehardened action with moderate engraving on the left side rail. Fitted with double claw front scope base, locking post rear base. A period Voigtl Aender & Sohn 2.5X scope mounted. Very fine horizontal with dot reticle, clear optics. Includes metal lens covers. Tang extension with a folding adjustable aperture. Casehardened bolt with checkered safety. Matching assembly numbers except the extractor. Adjustable double set triggers. Walnut stock with single wedge forend. Checkered round knob grip with cheekrest. Steel buttplate. Thinning metal finish and case color on the action and bolt. Stock shows handling but nothing major. Mechanically fine. The bore is worn and dark in the grooves. Antique, s/n 249xx |
