| 22 LR; 90% blue, very good bore, good stock, 27 5/8'' barrel, Finnish Civil Guard issued training rifle. Manufactured by Simpson Suhl in Germany. Crown/BUG proofed and serial numbered 9 on the bottom of the barrel under the stock and on the bolt handle shank. Stamped on top of the round barrel "PRAZISIONS- KARABINER MODELL 1926", this rifle has none of the Simson markings otherwise. Stamped on top of the barrel and on the left side of the stock butt with the Civil Guard S sheild logo marking common during the WW2 and Winter War era. The rifle has it's original blued finish, round barrel with fixed front and elevation adjustable rear sights (rear sight missing the elevator). Plain walnut stock with grip. Very scarce in the U.S. as these were never offered on the surplus market. Once released for civilian sale most if not all stayed in Finland and were used for hunting, the attrition rate of these was likely high due to abuse and damage. Metal finish shows no excessive wear, there are scattered spots of light surface rusting. The stock shows some handling, with minor chipping at the rear of the receiver on top of the stock and a couple small crack on the left side of the butt at the buttplate. Bore is bright, shows some use but has plenty of life left. A very rare Finnish used training rifle., s/n 9 |
