| Description: |
| 22 LR CAL; 85% blue, excellent bore, good stock, 26.'' barrel, Single shot bolt action rifle produced in Germany and used extensively for firearms training, the W625 series rifles were some of the first to be adopted as a standard training rifle for the various "unofficial" military branches during the early 1930's era. The W625 rifles went through a series of upgrades during their term as a standard trainer, and were a mainstay until slow replacement began with the Mauser DSM-34 rifles. This example "A" version has original blued finish, mounted in a finger grooved walnut stock and handguard. Matching serial number on bolt. Original cleaning rod and leather sling. Stamped on top of the receiver "Mod. W625A" over the small Simson triangle logo. Caliber designation and serial number is located on the left side of the barrel. Crown/B and U proofs are located on the right side of the barrel and receiver. The metal and wood show wear and handling, some light surface rusting on exposed metal., Training Rifles of Third Reich Germany pp 400, s/n 1197xx |
