| 45 S&W; good bore, good grips, 7'' barrel, Manufractured 1876-1877 with just over 5900 produced. Military issue, US stamped on the butt, faint inspector cartouche on each grip, E and P proofs on the back of the cylinder and bottom of the barrel lug. Metal has trace blued finish in protected areas, remainder gray with light spotting. Walnut grips, the left side with the name "CARVER" roughly added. Factory markings are clear, stamped on the left side of the barrel lug with the S&W address and patent dates 1865, 1869 and 1871 in two lines. The right side of the barrel lug stamped "+SCHOFIELD'S PATS JUNE 20TH 71. APR 22ND 73+". Mechanically fine and tight. The bore has shine and strong rifling, some pitting. Antique, s/n 57xx |
