| 38 S&W; 90% blue, excellent bore, very good grips, 6'' barrel, Fourth change variation with original blue finish, casehardened trigger and hammer, and checkered walnut diamond grips with silver S&W medallions. British contract, chambered for the 38/200 British cartridge. Standard S&W markings, fixed sight, five screw frame and lanyard ring on the butt. The butt of the grip frame has a small "P" firing proof stamped. No British acceptance or Government markings. Accompanying this revolver is a S&W factory letter signed by Roy G. Jinks and dated 2010. The letter states that the revolver was delivered to the British Purchasing Commission in New York City, New York on January 30th, 1940. Most wear is on the grip frame straps. There is some minor surface spotting on the rear areas of the frame. Mechanically fine and clean internally. C&R/FFL, s/n 7114xx |
