| 38 Special; 90% blue, excellent bore, good grips, 6.5'' barrel, Manufactured 1903-1905. Original bright blue finish, casehardened smooth face trigger and fine checkered hammer. Original fixed front patridge sight and adjustable rear sight. Square butt frame with original checkered walnut grips. Matching serial numbers. Stamped on top of the barrel with the S&W address and patent dates in two lines. Stamped on the left side of the barrel "38 S.&W. SPECIAL/& U.S. SERVICE CTG'S". The cylinder has some flaked finish with browning in the areas of loss, most around one cylinder flute. Mechanically fine smooth action with good cylinder indexing and lockup. Clean bore. Accompanying this revolver is a S&W factory letter which states that the gun was shipped from the factory on December 26, 1905 and delivered to Von Langerke & Antoine Co., Chicago Illinois. The letter has a typo that the grip is a round butt. C&R/FFL, s/n 616xx |
