| Description: |
| 44 Russian; good bore, good grips, 6'' barrel, Oscar Young factory engraved with original nickel finish and genuine pearl grips. Blued finish checkered barrel latch, Casehardened checkered hammer with fading color, blued finish trigger guard, worn mostly gray. 1 7/16" 6 chamber fluted cylinder with matching serial number. Round ribbed barrel, roll stamped on top of the rib with the Smith & Wesson address and patent dates 1865, 1869, 1875, 1877 and reissue 1871 in two lines. The nickle finish remains at approximatley 97%. Scattered tiny dings and light scratches overall. Light holstering wear on the sides of the barrels muzzle. The finish on the sides of the frame is dulling slighty as well as on the grip straps. Small area of spotting on the right side behind the recoil shield, and along the edges of the grip frame. Some speckling in the finish inside the cylinder flutes. The pearl grips show light handling, no chipping or major damage however. The action functions well and the barrel locks down well. The bore has shine and fairly sharp rifling, with light corrosion throughout. Antique, s/n 280xx |
